Forecasting travel demand


(click on image to enlarge) Users can predict the number of vehicle trips entering and exiting within a traffic study area confidently and quickly based on ITE Trip Generation data. Initial trip generation volumes for a planned development can be calculated by inputting the planned land use components, selecting the time period of analysis, and lastly, the appropriate trip generation formula from a pull down list.


Trip reductions

Internal trip capture adjustments

External trips adjustments

For some land uses and time periods, published average rates found in the Trip Generation Handbook are used as default which users have the option to override. OTISS will then determine the pass-by trips based on this percentage.
